Art Educator Professional Development
Join us for a full day of inspiration and hands-on learning at CCAD's Professional Development for K-12 Art Educators. This program gives art teachers fresh tools, ideas, and perspectives to bring back to their classrooms.
This time around, there are options to attend Professional Development Day in both Spring and Summer, offering energizing opportunities for personal and professional growth. To personalize your experience, educators have multiple workshop options to choose from.

This one-day event has a total cost of $125, including registration, lunch and refreshments, and all workshop supplies.

CONTINUED EDUCATION
Participants earn 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the full day. CCAD is a CEU-approved provider, dedicated to supporting educators’ professional development and ongoing growth in the arts.
Workshop Session Options
Attendees will choose two of the four options to participate in.
Help students let go of an obsession with perfectionism through this pedagogy-based workshop. Educators will develop listening skills and adaptive strategies to accompany students and themselves as they work to build a community of learners cultivated around growth. Through hands-on situational exercises, real-life metaphors, and classroom activities, you will learn how to invite students to value progress.
From sourcing your metal to achieving depth and detail, this workshop will share the scalable nature of this activity. Participants will see the range of materials that are possible when making metal malleable. Learn how to apply low and high relief techniques.
Repurpose patterned fabric or paper as a foundation for students to paint or collage on and with. Witness and experience how textures, colors, and backgrounds can inform composition and encourage artistic expression through risk-taking!
Bring wool fibers to life by using different kinds of needles to transform fiber into 3D model figures. Explore color, layering, and armature integration when building and sculpting wool from concept to creation.
TAKE IT BACK TO CLASS
Bring new energy to your classroom. Led by practicing artists and educators, these workshops give you fresh ways to teach creativity, problem-solving, and artistic expression while making art learning more inclusive and accessible.
Leave with practical strategies, adaptable projects, and new ideas you can put to work right away. Make art, share ideas with fellow educators, and head back to your classroom ready to try something new.
