​​Chroma: Best of CCAD is our annual exhibition of outstanding student work, selected and curated by faculty. In addition to art and design exhibitions and events across campus, grab a drink, stop by a food truck, and make your way to one of our many one-night only events. Chroma events

History of Art & Visual Culture symposium
4–5 p.m. 
Canzani Center, second floor, Multipurpose Room

Four students will present new research in areas of art and design history, featuring such topics as protest through fashion, the evolution of Chechen fighter dress, sexual images self-created by women for sites like Only Fans, and contemporary Arabic calligraphy. 

Alumni HQ
4:30–6:30 p.m
Canzani Center, first floor, Development Suite

CCAD alumni–make your way to Canzani to catch up with fellow alums, grab some CCAD swag, and enjoy a complimentary drink from Seventh Son Brewing Co. at our Alumni HQ, hosted by the Alumni Office.

Hear poetry and prose by CCAD students, including the winners of this year’s Creative Writing Awards. Copies of the newest issues of the creative writing publication Botticelliissues #18 (Fall 2022) and #19 (Spring 2023)will be for sale.

Animation screening
6–7 p.m. 
Canzani Center, first floor, Canzani Auditorium

The Animation Department will screen a 45-minute program showcasing the best animated content from the Animation program. 

Film & Video screening
7–8 p.m. 
Canzani Center, first floor, Canzani Screening Room

Film & Video will showcase selected student works in the form of film posters and selected films.

Purchase original comics—including the Spitball anthology—created by students and see visual displays of first-year to senior-level Comic & Narrative practice work.

 

Location: DSB, second floor, hallway

Witness a wide variety of work and thinking from the first-year students’ course projects.

 

Location: DSB, second floor, fashion department

See original garments designed by Fashion Design students, as well as fashion artwork created by top students across all class levels.

Visit a display of movie posters created by students.

Stop by Beeler Gallery for a showcase of senior projects and DSB Gallery to witness second- and third-year student work. Head to Kinney Hall to see  printmaking pieces on the lower level and 3D work in the second-floor display cases.

Enjoy card games, virtual reality experiences, a Smokey Bear-themed mobile game, and more created by students.

Experience the academic explorations of Interior Architecture & Design students across all class levels, with senior capstone projects highlighted in the balcony hallway.

The DSB Gallery will feature works by the Class of 2023 highlighting a wide variety of artistic responses to key issues impacting the local and broader community based on discussions at the Columbus Metropolitan Club.

Visit Beeler and Beaton galleries to check out capstone and other upper-level student work, plus, explore Kinney Hall’s top floor to see work by first-, second-, and third-year students representing a cross-section of courses from the department.
