Creative Writing Awards

Each year, CCAD students submit vibrant and risk-taking work to the Creative Writing Awards Series, an annual contest for CCAD undergraduates in three categories: prose (fiction/nonfiction), poetry, and screenwriting. For each genre, there is a winner ($300 + excerpt publication in the print issue of Botticelli) and a runner-up ($100 + possible publication in a future online issue of Botticelli). Award recipients have the option of reading at Red Wheelbarrow at Chroma: Best of CCAD. It's all part of CCAD's vital and inclusive community of literary artists.

Submissions generally are accepted early in the spring semester. Students may submit in more than one genre and do not have to be creative writing minors or have taken creative writing courses to submit. Submissions are reviewed anonymously by external judges from Columbus and abroad.

CCAD's Creative Writing Awards Series is made possible through the generous support of Bob Redfield and Mary Yerina.
