Beauty and Decay Closing Reception

This is the closing reception for Beauty and Decay, which will be on view on the second floor of Kinney Hall (Beaton Gallery) from April 13 to April 17.

This exhibit showcases black and white imagery using a large format camera, a 4"x5", to capture still photographs of decaying structures. These images suggest that decaying architecture acts as a tangible manifestation of memory, where the image captures the tension between past functionality and present subversion, triggering emotional and collective recollections that transcend the physical material.
