COLUMBUS, Ohio—Retail is not dead; it’s at a crossroads, and Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) plans to prepare leaders who can reenvision the industry’s future and solve some of its biggest challenges through a new graduate program.

The CCAD community will cheer on alum Dan Scanlon (Illustration, 1998) at the 93rd Academy Awards. Scanlon's "Onward" is nominated for Best Animated Feature.

Courtney DeYoung, a CCAD Fine Arts grad, creates hypoallergenic, hand-painted porcelain jewelry with whimsical and natural elements. Her pieces, priced $24-$140, feature florals, animals, and patterns. DeYoung, inspired by Scandinavian designs and cute animals, is a frequent vendor at CCAD's Art Fairs and will join the first CCAD Alumni Art & Design Market.

Ric Petry, CCAD's Professor Emeritus, will be honored with an honorary doctorate for his artistic achievements and transformative impact.

PJ Sedgwick, a CCAD alum, blends her design expertise with a passion for equestrianism, launching BOTORI, offering functional yet stylish apparel.

CCAD announces the Cloyd Endowed Scholarship in Animation, funded by Trustee Gil Cloyd. This scholarship supports two Animation students annually, recognizing leadership and encouraging careers in animation.

Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) recently launched a new Strategic Plan, The CCAD Way, which charts the course for the college’s future over the next six years.

In the fall of 2020, Columbus College of Art & Design Fashion Design students had the unique opportunity to create merchandise concepts for Pelotonia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding innovative cancer research.

Since 2013, CCAD has partnered with California-based E. & J. Gallo Winery to provide students with real-world experience in the classroom and connections that lead to career opportunities.
