James Lutz teaches advanced design concepts and typographic communications. Lutz’s advertising and design career includes senior art director positions at GSW Worldwide and Fahlgren Mortine. His work includes medical and pharmaceutical product development, as well as banking and consumer clients. He formed Lutz Design Group in 1994, which does branding, packaging, advertising, and design strategy. He collaborates with web developers, photographers, and videographers on educational and healthcare clients and is the recipient of the 2013 Teaching Excellence Award.
