I am a multimedia artist that creates an interplay of watercolor, oil bar and intensified mark-making. My pieces exhibit the progression of time as it relates to the consumption of impactful and life altering events following adolescent memories. I do this by using a scarred palette of warm blush tones, creating buildups of watercolor representing the passion and transparency of memory. I then smear oil bar across the body of my paintings, acting as a mask, concealing each previous layer that was made before, this alludes an emotional sense of heaviness created overtime by constantly repressing pivotal sensations of memory. The pieces are then manifested with an additional layer of stippled mark-making, creating various depths and transitions such as memories do.
