"Intangible Windows” is a series of Cinematic Virtual Reality (VR) videos viewed within VR headsets. Playfully surreal, the three works use digital layering and 360-degree video to weave scenes and elements from both the natural world and constructed sets to visualize an interplay of reality with imagination. Viewed individually or within a shared installation space, these “Intangible Windows” video collages use dreamlike settings, symbolic objects, and surprising juxtapositions to evoke a sense of lyrical dislocation. I call these videos “VR Poems” to invite viewers to be open to ambiguity and free to find their own meanings, and to briefly transcend familiar realities to see alternative worlds through another’s eyes.
