Vasalisa is a storyboard animation based on a folktale. The allegory of a doll dressed like the main character shows how one needs to feed and trust intuition in order to be independent. In a shift from the source text, in this version the doll doesn’t solve the problems for Vasalisa and doesn’t talk. Instead, like intuition, she hints, appearing by the tools that can be transformed into a solution, or indicating the way. It is still up to Vasalisa to trust the doll and take her advice. This Vasalisa has more agency: instead of obediently taking orders, she finds a way to question what happens to her, and by the end, she learns to stand up for herself and to tread her own path.
