Melanie Corn


Dr. Melanie Corn joined CCAD in March 2016 as the college's fifth President. Corn is the first female President in CCAD’s history and one of only several women currently serving as Presidents of member institutions of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). Corn’s academic and pedagogic work combines interests in contemporary visual culture and theories of gender and sexuality, and her graduate art history work focused on the visual crisis of the AIDS epidemic. She received a bachelor’s degree in art history from Stanford University; a master’s degree in art history from University of California Santa Barbara, where she also completed doctoral coursework and exams; and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. Corn's dissertation, Community-partnered Project-based Studio Pedagogy: Developing a Framework and Exploring the Impact on Faculty in Art and Design Higher Education, focused on the increasingly important work of art and design courses moving outside the college walls.

Corn previously served as the Provost for California College of the Arts (CCA). As the chief academic officer at CCA, Corn worked to strengthen faculty development and governance, champion diversity efforts at the college, improve academic assessment efforts and lead the implementation of new degree programs that take advantage of CCA’s home in a major center of cultural and social innovation.

At CCAD, Corn is charged with setting the vision and tone for the college, ensuring that educational programs are strategic and relevant, that long-term institutional viability and sustainability are safeguarded and that the dynamic connectivity between the college and its constituencies — alumni, business, civic and community — continues to grow.


Kevin J. Conlon


Kevin J. Conlon joined CCAD as Vice President for Academic Affairs in June 2011 to lead the continuous improvement of the college's academic programs. He was appointed Provost in June 2013 and served as Interim President from March 2015 to March 2016.

Since his arrival at CCAD, Conlon has focused on collaborating with faculty and staff to create an innovative portfolio of academic programs that engage students and faculty with a variety of external partners. These programs and their intentional connections are designed to develop students' professional capacity as leaders who use their creativity to shape our community, drive our culture and enhance our commerce.

In addition to his administrative work at CCAD, Conlon is a member of the Commission on Accreditation for the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Prior to joining CCAD, Conlon served as Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Instruction at Ringling College of Art and Design and as Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio State University.

Conlon has maintained a fine arts studio practice for more than 30 years. His artwork is diverse and includes works in bronze, cast resin, concrete, fiberglass and more, as well as oil paintings and works on paper.



Jeffrey A. Fisher

Senior Vice President, Chief Fiscal Officer

Jeffrey A. Fisher has been Senior Vice President and Chief Fiscal Officer of CCAD since 1998. He oversees the business, facilities, human relations, information technology and purchasing departments as well as all construction projects. He has been with the college since 1983. In 1994, he was named Vice President for Finance. In 1996 and 1997, Fisher served as Interim Co-President for 15 months while the college searched for a new president.

Prior to joining the college, Fisher worked at Reynolds Metals Company as a Financial and Cost Analyst. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Administrative Science and a major of Accounting. In 1999, he attended and completed Harvard’s Institute for Educational Management.



Lindsey Dunleavy

Vice President for Advancement

Lindsey Dunleavy has been with CCAD since July 2015. She is responsible for designing and implementing advancement programming that will significantly increase the college’s constituent involvement and philanthropic support. She performs an essential role in building strong relationships and partnerships with not only the president and the Board of Trustees, but with nonprofit agencies, companies, corporations and donors that will advance CCAD’s initiatives. She previously served in various development positions at Ohio State University through the College of Nursing and the College of Engineering.

Dunleavy is originally from Westchester County, New York, and studied Art History and Spanish at Middlebury College in Vermont, where she earned a bachelor’s degree.

Prior to working in advancement, Dunleavy worked in hospitality sales and marketing for companies in New York, Ohio, the Netherlands and Antilles. She has recently volunteered with the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure.



Dwayne Todd

Vice President for Student Affairs

Dwayne Todd has been with CCAD since 2001. In his current position, he oversees residence life, student involvement, counseling services, career services, multicultural affairs, academic advising, academic support services, disability services, campus dining services, student conduct processes, orientation and new student programs, campus safety and security, and student insurance programs. He also participates in institutional assessment and planning functions. He previously served in various student affairs roles at Texas Christian University and was the Assistant Chairman of the MBA program at Franklin University. His career spans more than 20 years of work in multiple areas of higher education administration.

Originally from Dayton, Todd received a bachelor’s degree in Music from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He is currently completing his doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Ohio State University.

Todd has served in a number of governing board roles with the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) – College Student Educators International, a comprehensive student affairs association with approximately 7,000 members worldwide. He currently serves as a trustee with the ACPA Foundation and as co-chair for the ACPA Institute for Aspiring Senior Student Affairs Officers. Additionally, he serves as vice president of the Board of Trustees for the Jefferson Center for Learning and the Arts. Todd is also a past president of the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA), and is a member of NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the Association for College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I), and the Association for Student Conduct Administration.



Jeffrey Brotherton

Chief Information Officer

Jeffrey Brotherton was appointed Chief Information Officer at CCAD in October 2012. As CIO, he provides vision and leadership for the development and implementation of information technology in support of CCAD’s academic and business operations. He works to improve service quality and cost effectiveness while developing new capabilities in academic and business development for the school. He is responsible for all aspects of CCAD’s information technology and systems.

Before joining CCAD, Brotherton served as Director of Enterprise Systems Management at Ohio State University. He also held two positions over six years at Franklin University, first as Director of Technical Infrastructure and then as Chief Information Officer. Before entering the higher education arena, he held several positions in the private business world.

Brotherton has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Augustana College in Illinois and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University.



Tom Gattis

Dean, School of Design Arts

Tom Gattis joined CCAD in 2012 to facilitate the creation of the college’s new Industrial Design program. During that time, he worked with other design program chairs as well as the directors of Liberal Arts and Foundation Studies programs to ensure the phase-in of the Industrial Design program by fall 2013. Gattis' prior academic leadership experience includes an Associate Vice President post and management of curricular overhauls of industrial and furniture design programs. In the private industry, Gattis has worked as a designer and project manager in the nuclear industry, as an account executive in the trade show and exhibition industry and as a professional model maker.

Gattis earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Auburn University in Alabama and a master’s degree in Industrial Technology Education from Bemidji State University in Minnesota.

A former professor at Savannah College of Art and Design, Gattis spends his spare time as a wooden boat builder and master wood turner. He is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America, the American Craft Council and the American Association of Woodturners.

Julie Taggart

Dean, School of Studio Arts

Julie Taggart was appointed Dean of the School of Studio Arts in June 2012. She began her career at CCAD in 1994 when she was hired to teach drawing, painting and color theory. She shifted her focus to administration after being appointed chairwoman of painting in 2002. From 2006 to 2012, as Dean of Fine Art and Foundation Studies, Taggart transformed the freshman program into a digitally integrated and conceptually engaging curriculum focused on innovation. Traditional skills and expectations of technical excellence have merged with technology-driven, inquiry-based approaches that better prepare students for the rigor of their chosen majors and the expectations of careers in the creative economy.

Taggart is an alumna of CCAD and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Syracuse University.

In addition to her work at CCAD, Taggart maintains an active studio practice and a commitment to volunteerism. She was represented by Rebecca Ibel Gallery in Columbus until the gallery closed in 2011, and her paintings have been included in numerous national and international exhibitions.


Chris Mundell

Dean of Students

Chris Mundell joined CCAD in 2007. He has held a variety of positions in student affairs with an emphasis on student success initiatives and learner support services. Mundell has been instrumental in expanding student support services on campus, including the implementation of CCAD’s academic early intervention system, student behavioral intervention and care team and the Creative Coaches peer-to-peer tutoring program.

As Dean of Students, Mundell is responsible for key programs and services that enrich the quality of student life on campus. His responsibilities include oversight of academic advising and learner support services, counseling and wellness services, student involvement and orientation, student advocacy and crisis intervention, and the student conduct process.  

Mundell’s career in higher education has spanned 11 years and includes experience in several functional areas, from academic advising to disability services. Mundell completed his master’s degree in student affairs and higher education at Miami University. He is a past president of the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) and a graduate of both the ACPA Mid-Level Management Institute and the nationally recognized Leadership Columbus Program. A slightly fanatical soccer dad, Mundell spends his free time coaching youth sports and enjoying time with his family.


Ric Petry

Director of Graduate Studies

Ric Petry is the first Director of Graduate Studies at CCAD. In 2009, he led the establishment of the first graduate degree at the college: a multidisciplinary, project-based MFA. Prior to 2009, Petry served as the Dean of the Media Arts Division for 10 years and was responsible for the photography, video, animation and interactive arts programs. Petry was also a faculty member in the Photography department and the chair from 1992 to 1998.

Petry is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, three Ohio Arts Council Fellowships and a Greater Columbus Arts Council Individual Artist Grant. His art-making is broad in scope and media, including both commercial and fine art photography, as well as film, performance, sculpture, and recently, collaborative production of video and animation integrated with dance performances.

Petry received a Master of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where he studied photography with William Larson, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Akron, where he majored in Philosophy and History of Science.

Eleanor Fuchs

Associate Provost

Eleanor Fuchs joined CCAD in August 2015 to serve as the college's compliance officer. She oversees accreditation, assessment, faculty development and the college's library and off-campus learning programs. In her role, she works hand-in-hand with faculty and leadership to develop new programs while staying ahead of federal and state regulations.

Fuchs came to CCAD from Detroit, where she built a career in both academia and marketing. She was a Content Strategist for Quicken Loans, where she oversaw large-scale projects for products and marketing communications, content governance and developing recommendations for content-related issues. Prior to Quicken Loans, she served as Assistant Provost for the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. While there, she oversaw the college’s accreditation portfolio, worked with faculty and staff to develop its assessment plan, managed faculty and student development, and oversaw off-campus and international programming.

Fuchs holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Anthropology from the Universities of Minnesota and Toronto. She is also an avid improvisor and can be found performing in Columbus and Detroit.

Michele Kibler

Registrar/Director of One-Stop Student Services

Michele Kibler has been part of the CCAD family since 2001. She currently oversees administrative processes, operations and the management of the One-Stop Student Services Office and Community Education. She works closely with the financial aid, bursar and advising offices. Her responsibilities include maintaining accurate student records and registration as well as interpreting and enforcing the academic policies regarding registration and records. She is the statistical data reporter for the college and the veterans certifying official. Kibler has worked closely with the information technology team to improve the student's experience by utilizing more technical features and streamlining processes.

Kibler is an alumna of Kent State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Crafts. Prior to joining CCAD, she worked in the Fine and Professional Arts College as a records assistant at Kent State. Along with dedicating the past 15 years to the improvement of CCAD, she is also the proud owner of a small business in Columbus: She and her husband, Jason, run a Filipino-style food truck called Asian Persuasion.
