Ben Towle is a five-time Eisner-nominated cartoonist working on his next graphic novel, In the Weeds, a “funny animal” comic about cooking and music in the 1990s. His other work includes the nonfiction graphic novel Four-Fisted Tales: Animals in Combat; the rollicking nautical fantasy comic, Oyster War; Amelia Earhart: This Broad Ocean (with Sarah Stewart Taylor), a graphic novel for young adults that received accolades from such publications as The New York Times and Publishers Weekly and was a Junior Library Guild selection; the historical fiction graphic novel Midnight Sun; and a volume of comics folk tales, Farewell, Georgia. In addition to CCAD, Towle has taught comics, art, and illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, the University of North Carolina School for the Arts, and the Sawtooth School for Visual Art, among other places.
