CCAD requires all first-year and incoming students to live on campus during their first year of study.
• Students from the central Ohio area who are commuting to CCAD.
• Students who are married or have been living with a domestic partner for an extended period of time (must be verifiable).
• Students who will be living with an immediate family member while attending CCAD. This exception is provisional and may be denied by the college.
• Students who are transferring to CCAD with a minimum of 24 credit hours completed at another college or university.
Students meeting any of the above conditions, or seeking an exemption to the on-campus living requirement, must complete a residency exemption request form available here.
Upper-division students have the option to live on- or off-campus. The room selection process for Design Square Apartments occurs in March. Many CCAD students opt to live in the nearby apartment complexes (Abigale, Grant-Oaks, The Seneca, Triad and Washington Place) or in the Old Towne East neighborhood, but are permitted to live anywhere. CCAD hosts a Housing Fair in late February to help with this process. For additional assistance, please refer to the links below.
Additionally, there are several resources to help students who will not be living in CCAD housing. Use the below links to find information on off-campus housing near the college or elsewhere in Central Ohio.
