Portfolio

Your portfolio should contain 20 examples of your work, which can be a combination of images and time-based work. You should submit your portfolio entirely as digital files on the apply page.

Artist statement about work submitted

150 words.

Statement of intent for graduate study

  1. Describe what you want to do in graduate school: one, succinct sentence.
  2. Describe in detail what you want to do: 250 words - What area or media will you use? What techniques will you use? How and why will you use them? What concerns will you address in this project? What is your conceptual approach to this project? What is the methodology you will use to complete the project? ? How will the final work or production enhance your interests and skills? What are the goals of this work?
  3. Context for your ideas: 250 words - What are the main influences upon your work as an artist or designer? Cite sources of inspiration for the work. What formal or informal training have you had? How do your past experiences inform your hopes of graduate study? What is the relationship between your statement of intent and past or current work by other artists/designers? In light of current dialogue in your media, how is your vision unique, interesting, or original?

Letters of recommendation

Three letters of recommendations from faculty, guidance counselors, professional artists, employers or other adults not related to you. You should submit this through the apply page as well.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Financing your education doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Complete your FAFSA, send us the information and CCAD will use this to figure out a package that works for you.

International students: proof of English proficiency

If you are an international student from a country where English is not the primary language, you must submit proof of your English proficiency. A minimum score of TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5 is required. You should request your score through the test center; you can submit it via postal mail. CCAD’s code for TOEFL results is 1085.

Priority Application Deadline:  February 1, 2021.

Rolling Application Deadline: We continue to accept applications on a rolling basis after the priority deadline. However, to ensure space and scholarships are still available, we encourage you to complete your application as early as possible.
