Convocation

You know you’re official when you receive your sketchbook! At Convocation, we formally welcome our new first-year and transfer students. First-year morning classes will be dismissed by 10:30 a.m. to allow students to take part in the ceremony, and first-year students should meet in the Canzani Center Atrium at that time.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Keith B. Key, a real estate entrepreneur and member of CCAD’s Board of Trustees. A member of the Alumni Advisory Board will be on hand to uphold the annual tradition of presenting all new students with a CCAD sketchbook.

While the Convocation ceremony itself is limited to new students, faculty, and staff, all students are encouraged to help welcome new students to CCAD! Head over to the Quad at 11:30 a.m. to cheer on your new classmates when they make their way in a procession along Gay Street.

CCAD community members are then invited to enjoy a picnic on the Quad (rain location: Crane Center) beginning around 11:45 a.m. Classes will resume at 12:30 p.m.
