Aleesha Nash is a multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, writer, and educator whose creative practice spans illustration, theatre, video, and visual storytelling. Her work is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a love of stories that bring history, culture, and identity into focus.
Over the past six years, Nash has built a career in children’s media, illustrating eight picture books and creating work for projects with PBS Kids’ Donkey Hodie and Fred Rogers Productions. Her playful, character-driven illustrations often center Black and Brown children and explore the everyday moments that make stories feel meaningful.
Nash brings more than 25 years of experience in theatre and the arts to her teaching at Columbus College of Art & Design, where she encourages students to experiment, find their creative voice, and discover connections between disciplines. She also helps lead Cartoon Crossroads Columbus (CXC), an international festival celebrating comics and cartoon art.
Nash holds an M.A. from New York University and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Goddard College, where she received the Engaged Artist Award. She continues to create, teach, and explore new ways of bringing stories to life.
