Brandy Norris is a decorative arts and design historian and educator based in Columbus, Ohio, and teaches courses on the history of design, decorative arts, and art history. Her research interests center on 19th- and 20th-century ceramics and interiors, and she has presented her work at venues including the Columbus Museum of Art, George Washington University Museum, and the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms.
Norris brings a rich and diverse background in museum and gallery practice, having most recently managed Jewelers'werk Galerie—a renowned contemporary art jewelry gallery in Washington, D.C.—working closely with international artists and collectors. She has also contributed extensive research and interpretive work to institutions such as the President Woodrow Wilson House, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Hillwood Estate, and the Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the U.S. Department of State. Additionally, she offers a distinctive interdisciplinary perspective shaped by over a decade of work in adult education, as well as program management in the federal government and non-profit sectors.
Norris holds an MA in Decorative Arts & Design History, with distinction, from the Smithsonian-Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at George Washington University and a BA in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Denison University.
