Edgar Singleton teaches in Writing, Literature and Philosophy. He is the former director of the First-Year Writing Program at The Ohio State University, where he oversaw curriculum and professional development, created a program vision, and coordinated first-year writing efforts across all campuses of the university. He has frequently presented at the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the Conference of the Council of Writing Program Administrators as well as at university events such as the Focusing on the First Year. Edgar received his PhD in English from OSU and a Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University. He is an active musician in the Columbus area, and from 1993-1998 served as Grants Manager of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as the board secretary of the organization Ghana Beyond Subsistence and has traveled and worked with teachers and students in the Volta Region of that country since 2018.
