Joe Hess is from Columbus, Ohio, and received his MA from Miami University and MFA in Poetry from Ashland University. Besides teaching composition and poetry at CCAD, he teaches composition and literature at other Central Ohio colleges. He spends his free time playing music and travelling to Europe (frequently Paris), where he workshops poetry with other traveling writers. You can find his work in The Ekphrastic Review, Into the Void, Lime Hawk, Belt Magazine's Columbus Anthology, and Shabda Press’s 2017 anthology, Nuclear Impact: Broken Atoms in Our Hands. His chapbook, Trauma Décor, was released in January 2022, and a full-length collection, Into the Ancient, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2024.
