Tam joined the CCAD faculty in 1986 and retired in 2016. In her 30 years at CCAD, Tam taught courses in Foundation Studies, Fine Arts, and Illustration. Between 2008 and 2015, she served as Chair of Foundation Studies and Associate Director of CORE Studio (now called "First-Year Experience"). Tam was instrumental in the development and implementation of new hybrid media Visual Literacy curricula that integrated digital media into CCAD’s deeply rooted traditional Design & Color coursework. As an energetic, dedicated, and inspiring educator, Tam was a frequent nominee and the 2009 recipient of CCAD’s Teaching Excellence Award.

Tam also invested decades of college service and professional practice within CCAD’s Gallery and Exhibitions program. She was heavily involved in exhibition design and installation, gallery administrative duties, and curatorial work. Tam served as Director of CCAD’s Annual Student Exhibition from 2001 to 2006. Tam is currently enjoying her Zone 9B garden, relaxed studio time, and abundant Florida sunshine.
