Taylor Olsen is an educator, animator, and interactive media designer whose teaching practice bridges game art, animation, and experimental digital media. He brings experience in game production, motion graphics, animation, and digital media practices to courses such as 2D & 3D Game Art, Programming for Play, Game Theory, and Senior Capstone development.
Olsen’s creative practice explores the intersection of animation, interaction, design research, and a general curiosity for all things media-oriented. Their interdisciplinary practice spans motion graphics, exhibition design, web development, and animation for collaborative research initiatives, public exhibitions, and documentary media. Tay has contributed to projects involving digital humanities archives, interactive educational platforms, animated infographics, game-based learning & research, mixed-media film installations, and interdisciplinary collaborations through The Ohio State University’s Department of Design and ACCAD.
Their exhibition and production work has appeared through venues including the Wexner Center for the Arts, Ohio PBS, and university gallery exhibitions, with roles spanning animation, compositing, exhibition design, playspaces, motion graphics, and interactive media development. Tay earned an MFA in Design from The Ohio State University, specializing in Digital Animation & Interactive Media.
During their spare time, they enjoy gardening, drawing, and 3D modeling.
