Your safety and well-being matter at CCAD. Our campus security team is available 24 hours a day and provides emergency response, overnight residence hall coverage, and so much more.
OUR GOAL
At CCAD, safety is part of how our community supports creativity and learning every day. Our goal is to maintain a campus environment where students, faculty, staff, and visitors feel secure, respected, and able to focus on their work. Through proactive security services, education, and strong partnerships with local responders, we work to prevent risks and respond quickly when support is needed.

24/7 Campus Coverage
Campus security officers are on duty around the clock, monitoring buildings, responding to concerns, and helping maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Safe & Secure Residences
Security staff maintain overnight coverage in residence halls to support student safety and respond quickly to concerns throughout the night.

Mental Health First-Aid
Trained team members provide Mental Health First Aid, offering immediate support and helping connect students with the appropriate campus resources when they need it most.

Threat Prevention
Campus security works closely with local emergency responders and trains regularly to prepare for and respond quickly to potential threats and provide education to the commnuity to stay well-informed.

Parking Safety
Campus security helps keep parking areas safe and accessible through regular safety sweeps, parking services, vehicle jump-starts, and on-demand safety escorts to and from campus lots.

Access & ID Cards
Student ID cards provide secure access to residence halls, campus facilities, and other designated spaces, helping ensure that only authorized members of the community enter key areas.

How CCAD will communicate in an emergency
As part of the Columbus College of Art & Design Crisis Communication Plan, CCAD is committed to communicating rapidly, forthrightly, and frequently with internal and external audiences, including students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, board members, and community members. In case of an emergency, CCAD will provide regular updates on the situation at ccad.edu/emergency and through our RAVE Alert system.
CCAD utilizes RAVE, an emergency alert system, to communicate critical information to our community in times of need. If you're a current student or employee, visit My CCAD to learn more and access the RAVE system to check your settings.
