Incohorent Still Life

This artwork was made in the course "What Can a Drawing Do." The objective of the project was to study the silhouette of a nonsensical still life, draw its outline, then make it into a finished piece. This exercise not only shows how whitespace and abstract shapes can come together to form a non-objective composition, but also demonstrates how artistic choices —what is added or taken away— are what determine the unique mood of the work.

GRIS Fashion Boutique was designed during my junior year in Retail Design Studio. The boutique was created for a senior fashion student to display and sell their pieces. I designed the space around the idea of grief, their thesis, using smaller, narrow pathways to reflect the emotional experience someone might go through.

The Prose kiosk was designed during my junior year for a project about airport circulation. The goal of this project was to create an interactive and intriguing environment, one that a person traveling through an airport could easily stop and enjoy. This kiosk is based on Prose, a company focused on high-quality body care. It is meant to reflect the company's focus on natural products, bringing a natural environment into a busy, functioning airport. My Student Housing project was designed during my sophomore year residential studio, meant to create a space for all years of students and faculty to cohabitate. I designed a studio in this space to allow for an environment of collaboration. Because of the unique mix of people in this building, collaboration in design would be a huge benefit.

Cloer’s Anthurium collection pushes the boundaries of denim, transforming it into sculptural, sensual garments with unexpected elements like aluminum can beads and human hair embellishments. Inspired by sustainability, workwear, and the photography of Robert Mapplethorpe, Cloer is committed to using recycled materials to create fashion that lasts; her collection materials are all recycled in some manner, ranging from deadstock fabrics to salvaged trimmings. Self-taught during the pandemic, she refined her skills at CCAD, interned at Lane Bryant, and dreams of working under Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli or specializing in innovative denim design.
