CCAD has three student galleries used primarily for senior exhibitions in the Fine Arts Thesis program. Each Fine Arts major completes a capstone experience in the form of a solo exhibition. This exhibition displays the student’s thesis final portfolio of work for one week in one of our galleries, including a closing celebration on that Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. To allow as much development time as possible, most thesis shows occur in the second half of the spring semester.
Throughout the year, these venues accommodate other types of exhibitions, including experimental group shows. Galleries are scheduled at the beginning of each semester and are managed by the thesis faculty teaching Fine Arts Senior Projects and the chair of Fine Arts. Gallery hours are the same as the hours of general access to each building.
The Acock Gallery is on the second floor of the Canzani Center, at 60 Cleveland Ave. It doubles as the entry lobby to the president’s office and the board room.
The Byers Gallery is part of the Design Studios on Broad, at 390 E. Broad St., adjacent to the main entrance on the first floor.
The Beaton Gallery is located in the Amelito Mirolo Fine Arts Building, at 161 N. Grant Ave., adjacent to the Fine Arts Senior Studios.
