2019 CCAD Fashion Show returns to campus for CCAD’s 140th anniversary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus College of Art & Design marks its 140th anniversary in 2019, and with the anniversary comes a return of the perennially favorite CCAD Fashion Show to the college’s campus in Downtown Columbus.

The 2019 CCAD Fashion Show—the school’s major fundraising event for student scholarships—will take place on Friday, May 10, 2019. Not only will the evening showcase new looks on the runway, but attendees also will experience the campus’ fresh face, courtesy of the Creative Campus beautification initiative. This city of Columbus public service project has improved streets, sidewalks, and aesthetic elements in and around CCAD’s campus.

“CCAD has been a hub of creativity in Columbus for 140 years,” said Suzanne Cotton, Chair of CCAD’s Fashion Design program. “While the CCAD Fashion Show hasn’t been around for quite that long (the college hosted its first such event in the ’80s), attending the show has become a tradition for people who are passionate about fashion.”

Columbus is the no. 3 fashion city in the U.S., and the juried CCAD Fashion Show is a prime venue for showing off work by top student designers, many of whom go on to be employed by big-name Columbus retailers.

The 2019 CCAD Fashion Show will feature a wide variety of clothing, with previous years showcasing everything from adaptive childrenswear for kids with disabilities to unisex clothes inspired by insects.

Ticket sales and proceeds from 2019 CCAD Fashion Show will fund CCAD scholarships.
