CCAD Board of Trustees adds 3 new members

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus College of Art & Design is pleased to announce that the CCAD Board of Trustees has elected three new members: Robert Falcone of Columbus Medical Association, Corey Favor of The Ohio State University, and Michael Krouse of OhioHealth. 

CCAD President Dr. Melanie Corn said she’s excited to have such talented professionals joining the board.

“In adding these three new trustees, the board is poised to further advance Columbus College of Art & Design,” Corn said. “I’m thrilled to have such visionaries in their fields joining the CCAD community.”

Robert Falcone

Robert Falcone has been making music and visual art since the mid-1960s. He drew cartoons for the Cleveland State University newspaper, The Cauldron, from 1969 to 1970, and worked in the production and design space at Kent State University in 1970 and 1971. Falcone took an art break to pursue his medical career from 1973 to 1987. Falcone has been producing music and visual art continuously since, and recently completed an MFA in Visual Art at Columbus College of Art & Design. He is represented by the Lindsay Gallery. Currently, Falcone is CEO of the Columbus Medical Association and Affiliates and works with Central Ohio Physicians and coalitions to champion tangible improvements in community health. He most recently served as Vice President of Population Health with the Ohio Hospital Association, Chief of Staff of the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Chief of Staff of the Chalmers P Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, and Acting Chief of Staff for the Jesse Brown VAMC. Prior to joining the VHA, Falcone was President and COO for Grant Medical Center. In addition to multiple professional societies, he serves and has served on a number of arts-related boards, including ACME, CATCO (Vice President), GCAC (Chair), CAPA, and Annie's Fund (President).

Corey Favor

Corey Favor moved from New York City to Columbus, Ohio, to follow his dream and turn his love for art into a career. A graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design, Favor started his own design firm, Milkcrate Concepts, quickly after graduation and continued to operate his business successfully for more than three years. Favor continued to expand his business acumen and hone his design skills by working as a graphic designer with Who’s Who Publishing Company, Radio One, and The Ohio State University, Athletic Department. Currently, Favor is Associate Art Director of UI/Digital Design at The Ohio State University in the University Marketing Department. He is also the co-founder of Creative Control Fest (CCF), a conference designed to bring together a diverse group of creatives to highlight and celebrate minorities in design and other creative fields. Favor also serves as a board member with The Create Columbus Commission, a board of young professionals appointed and funded by the Mayor and City Council President to serve as the community’s foremost thought leaders on young professional interests, experiences, and priorities.

Michael Krouse

Michael Krouse is Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at OhioHealth. Krouse joined OhioHealth in 2007 as Chief Information Officer and was named Senior Vice President in 2011. In 2015, Krouse assumed responsibility for Lab, Pharmacy, Sterile Processing, Environmental, Nutrition, and Patient Transport Services. In 2017, Krouse was named the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer for the system. Krouse currently serves as the board chair of the Columbus Collaboratory, a multi-industry partnership focused on analytics, cyber, and talent development for the central Ohio community, and is a board member of the Ohio Health Information Partnership to advance healthcare information exchange throughout Ohio. Krouse maintains active board advisory roles for technology companies and is a past board member of the Columbus Children’s Theater and board chair of the Central Ohio Information Exchange. Krouse’s leadership and work has been recognized nationally with multiple awards, including the Premier 100 IT Leaders by Computerworld, the HITMEN & Women Innovators Up and Coming Award from Healthcare IT News, the C-Suite Award from Columbus Business First and CIO 100.

Three trustees are also rotating off the board: former Chair Jerry O. Allen of Bricker & Eckler LLP (retired); Mark Corna of Corna Kokosing Construction Co. (retired); and Jane Ramsey of L Brands (retired).
