On September 13, 2023, Columbus College of Art & Design full-time and adjunct faculty informed the college of their intention to unionize. The union representing them, Ohio Federation of Teachers, has filed a petition seeking an election to be administered by the National Labor Relations Board. This election will determine whether a faculty union will be formed.
CCAD will respect the election process and firmly believes in the importance of all eligible faculty having a right to choose whether or not to unionize by vote in a secret ballot election. "We remain committed to working productively with faculty to ensure educational excellence for our students and a strong work environment for faculty and staff," said CCAD President Melanie Corn.
