Chroma: Best of CCAD, graduation celebration to go online; Fashion Show canceled
COLUMBUS—Columbus College of Art & Design is committed to the health and safety of Columbus residents, students, faculty, staff, and other members of our community during the COVID-19 outbreak. Following the guidance of state and federal officials, CCAD has announced changes to this year’s three largest events: the 2020 CCAD Commencement, Chroma: Best of CCAD, and the 2020 CCAD Fashion Show.
“All of us at CCAD are very disappointed we won’t be celebrating our students’ accomplishments in person at this time, but we know that the well-being of our CCAD and greater Columbus communities has to be our first priority during this public health crisis,” said Dr. Melanie Corn, CCAD president. “Looking forward, we now have the opportunity to recognize and applaud our students’ hard work and achievements to more people online.”
While this year’s in-person Commencement event has been postponed, CCAD will celebrate its graduates online. Students may choose to walk and be recognized at a fall event. The college will share additional plans for commemorating graduates in the days to come.
CCAD has presented a year-end art exhibition since its founding 141 years ago. Now, Chroma: Best of CCAD will be going online. CCAD will present students’ work from across majors and featuring a wide range of art and design practices in a virtual exhibition at ccad.edu/chroma. Work will be added later this spring as it is completed, with a culminating online celebration at a date to be determined.
The 2020 CCAD Fashion Show has been canceled. CCAD thanks Presenting Sponsor L Brands for its support of this major fundraising event for student scholarships at CCAD. The good news is the work of the Fashion Design students selected for the Fashion Show will be featured online as a part of Chroma: Best of CCAD later this spring at ccad.edu/chroma.
