COLUMBUS, Ohio—Art enthusiasts will be able to experience the future of art and design in real life when Chroma: Best of CCAD returns to Columbus College of Art & Design’s campus on Friday, May 13, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Chroma showcases the best and brightest of the CCAD students across all majors at all levels,” said Tom Gattis, Dean of Undergraduate Studies. “Visitors will get to see inside the CCAD facilities and get an up-close view of the exceptional creative talents of our students. Employers will get to view work and talk to graduating seniors ready to enter the marketplace and identify the emerging talent at CCAD.”

The free, public exhibition showcases the top work from students in CCAD’s 12 undergraduate programs, liberal arts, and first-year CORE program, as well as its Master of Fine Arts candidates. Highlights from this year’s show include:

  • a sneak preview of a mobile app developed by Animation, Illustration, and Game Art & Design students to spread Smokey Bear’s message about fire safety and prevention;
  • an immersive storytelling experience created by Animation students that leads audiences through the life stages of a whale using artificial intelligence and projection mapping to create movement and three dimensional imagery;
  • presentations of ads, signage, fliers, and other original works created by Advertising & Graphic Design students, who used their creations to promote real-life events;
  • live readings of works from Red Wheelbarrow and Botticelli, which showcases poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, comics, and screenwriting by CCAD students and faculty;
  • live readings from Art History students;
  • a pop-up runway show by Fashion Design students, from first-years to seniors;
  • an exhibit of work by Fine Arts and Photography students that will be on display in the Beeler Gallery until Aug. 13;
