COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) has selected AVI Foodsystems as its new partner for campus food service and hospitality, effective July 1. Headquartered in Warren, OH, AVI is the largest privately-held and family-owned-and-operated food service company in the United States. The decision follows a nationwide bid and selection process with participation from the CCAD community.

AVI’s prepared-from-scratch dining program at the Market, CCAD’s main dining option on campus, will both elevate and transform the culinary experience with crafted dishes using only the freshest ingredients; this will include house-smoked and rotisserie-roasted deli meats at Smoke & Fire and The Carvery, plant-based entrées at Roots, fresh produce at the NutriBar, and homemade pastries and desserts at the Bake Shoppe. On-campus grab-and-go options will feature an extensive menu of fresh sandwiches, salads, and barista-crafted specialty drinks.

“We welcome AVI Foodsystems to our campus,” said Richelle Simonson, associate vice president for operations at CCAD. “Through this partnership with AVI, our community will be the recipients of an exceptional dining program.”

“We are honored to partner with and welcome CCAD to our AVI family,” said Vince Lombardi, executive vice president for education at AVI. “The AVI team is enthusiastic and committed to enhancing the student dining experience with our dynamic culinary program showcasing fresh food experiences.”

AVI commits to a smooth transition of services, which includes offering employment to many of the long-term employees from the previous provider who wish to continue working on the CCAD campus.
