Fashion grad makes the cut in Columbus Monthly

Columbus College of Art & Design grad Tracy Powell (Fashion Design, 2020) was among the independent designers spotlighted in Columbus Monthly’s feature on looks by “local fashion visionaries.”
It’s not easy for designers to strike out on their own, notes the magazine, “but indie fashion creatives in the city are finding increasing success, thanks in part to the support of local organizations such as the Columbus Fashion Council and the Columbus Fashion Alliance, as well as an audience with an abundance of hometown pride.”
Powell, reports Columbus Monthly, took the plunge into the industry—a lifelong interest—in 2015, when she decided to go back to school—to CCAD—to study Fashion Design at age 43.
As part of the magazine feature, Powell shared looks from her collection Blameless, “a line she conceptualized in response to growing civil unrest about racial inequality.” Check out a gallery of those looks right here.
