Rebekah Curtis

This work challenges viewers to touch and interact with paintings in a sculptural form, while breaking traditions in book making. Each object references fabric books often made for children, deploying imagery, codes that resemble – yet mock – page numbers, and varied textural differences. Each book serves a different purpose. The smaller is for an individual viewer’s experience. But the larger demands viewers work together to turn the pages—some situations in life are too difficult to undertake alone.
